Voting is over! See you at the awards ceremony on October 13th!
How long have you been in your nominated field?
I’ve been blogging on The sTORIbook for 5 years!
What professional achievements have you acquired during your years in your field?
The sTORIbook has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my entire life and has brought about so many exciting adventures, honors and friends. This past year I was honored to be awarded San Antonio Fashion Blogger of the Year (and hope to make it two years running)! I also received one of the top honors of my life by speaking at Neiman Marcus’ Women Who Rock and served on their 2015 Beauty Event panel. I have also been privileged to be featured in:
- San Antonio Magazine | Lifestyle of the Instagram Famous
- San Antonio Magazine | Tastemaker
- San Antonio Express-News | 13 Fashionistas Making San Antonio Their Runway on Instagram
- San Antonio Current | Best Blogger (voted multiple years)
- San Antonio Current | Best Social Media Personality
- Success Magazine
- SA Scene Magazine
This year has been a rollercoaster of a year! I launched sTORIbook TV which has been an exciting and challenging endeavor. I have also been thrilled to work with a wide variety of national brands including Neiman Marcus, Lancome, Urban Decay, Pixi Beauty, Elaine Turner, Kendra Scott, Lili Alessandra and many more throughout this year. But my blog perhaps took on its most important role for me in July 2016 when I suffered a stroke and went through the subsequent surgery to implant a device in my heart to close a small hole. At that point in time my blog became, not only a place for me to write everything I was going through, but it also became a support system throughout my healing process.
The sTORIbook is so much more than a blog about fashion and beauty. As I always say, “This is my sTORI being written as you read.”
Thank you to everyone for your love and support on this amazing journey!
What do you plan to do with your business to help the San Antonio Fashion Industry grow in a positive way?
Through my blog and coverage I strive to continue to bring awareness to the San Antonio fashion community including local designers, boutiques and more. I have also spoken to local students studying fashion, am scheduled to guest lecture at the University of Incarnate Word this fall and currently serve on the board for Fashion Group International (FGI) San Antonio.
