Voting is over! See you at the awards ceremony on October 13th!
How long have you been in your nominated field?
I have been a freelance editorial wardrobe stylist and personal shopper since 2011. Prior to that I worked various positions in luxury retail and fashion for over 15 years. Some of the companies I worked for are: Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Theory, Prada, and Dolce&Gabbana.
What professional achievements have you acquired during your years in your field?
I am also a writer and have been a contributor for various blogs, as well as penning articles for several publications. I have had the pleasure of having my styling work on 3 magazine covers this year and had my work featured inside of 3 as well! Recently, I served as the Fashion Editor At Large for a local lifestyle magazine, and have moved on to co-develop another magazine, which will be making it’s debut soon. (Stay tuned!) In 2015 I won the “Fashion Stylist of The Year Award’, presented by the San Antonio Fashion Awards for the first time; I am still reeling from the the excitement! I have co-produced several fashion shows and will be presenting a lecture at UTSA in October as well. I have also had the pleasure of working backstage at New York Fashion Week.
What do you plan to do with your business to help the San Antonio Fashion Industry grow in a positive way?
I plan to continue to work on my personal development both as a person and a fashion professional. I have already mentored a few young students who want to work in the industry and plan to do so on a larger scale in the upcoming year. What is most important to me is to foster community and inclusiveness while also maintaining a standard of professionalism and ethics. It is my goal to do whatever I can do bring ALL of the arts into fashion, because we/they are all part of the same world, and write now there is still division that doesn’t need to exist. I just want to do my best work, make people smile, inspire others, and continue to be inspired myself. The rest will take care of itself!
