How long have you been in your nominated field?

The 10 ten years in retail prior to founding Eye Candy Boutique were served in various positions including Store Manager and Visual Merchandising Manager at Steve & Barry’s, Lane Bryant and Forever 21 during and after obtaining Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Merchandising from Texas State University and University of North Texas, respectively.

What professional achievements have you acquired during your years in your field?

Since its inception in August of 2015 as the first pop-up to lease a brick and mortar location with OPEN Downtown Pop-Up Shops, I have been honored as one of the 20 Most Captivating People in San Antonio (SA Current, December 2015) and was named as a San Antonio Magazine Tastemaker (San Antonio Magazine, March 2016). Eye Candy Boutique was named Best Pop-Up Shop (San Antonio Magazine, February 2016). I have styled 15 fashion, beauty and Eye Candy Boutique segments for KSAT’s SA Live, and styled a fashion layout for the San Antonio Current.

What do you plan to do with your business to help the San Antonio Fashion Industry grow in a positive way?

As a Downtown business owner of a plus size boutique, I’m actively working on ways to highlight the heart of the city by promoting the notion that clothing size should not limit fashion options. With Eye Candy Boutique, tourists and San Antonians alike can feel comfortable and above all, confident, in their outfits that help spread a unique sense of style be it casual street chic wear, breezy, yet glam Fiesta attire and effortlessly cocktail-ready ensembles. The Downtown San Antonio landscape is on the verge of revitalization and we are so proud and excited to be a small part of it!
